Printing & Paper
Get clean, readable prints that match real-world measurements.
How do I print at the correct size (100% scale)?
How do I print at the correct size (100% scale)?
In your print dialog, turn off Fit to page / Shrink to fit and choose Actual size or 100%. If you print from a browser, open the system print dialog and double-check the scaling value before printing.
A4 vs Letter: which paper should I use?
A4 vs Letter: which paper should I use?
Use the paper size you can reliably get. Letter (8.5×11 in) is common in the US; A4 is common elsewhere. Before printing, preview margins to make sure table edges are not cut off.
Why does my chart look cropped or cut off?
Why does my chart look cropped or cut off?
This is usually caused by margins or scaling. Try these quick fixes:
- Increase print margins (or use your printer's borderless option if available).
- Switch to landscape for wider tables.
- Adjust scale between 95%–100% until all corners are visible.
Can I print in black-and-white and still keep readability?
Can I print in black-and-white and still keep readability?
Yes. Use high-contrast headers and alternating row shading so values are easy to scan in grayscale. Avoid relying on color alone to convey meaning.
Accuracy & Rounding
Understand when values are exact, rounded, or displayed as fractions.
Are the values exact or rounded?
Are the values exact or rounded?
We use standard conversion factors and formulas. Displayed table values may be rounded depending on chosen decimal places or fraction approximations. For professional work, show more decimals or display both decimals and fractions.
Fractions vs decimals: which should I choose?
Fractions vs decimals: which should I choose?
Both formats are useful. Choose based on how you read measurements:
Fractions
Best for woodworking, field work, and tape-measure marks (1/16, 1/8, 1/4).
Decimals
Best for calculations, machining, engineering, and CAD-friendly inputs.
What’s the safest way to avoid conversion mistakes?
What’s the safest way to avoid conversion mistakes?
A simple workflow prevents most mistakes:
- Pick a base unit (like mm or g) and convert to it first.
- Convert from the base unit to your target unit.
- Confirm the system (US vs Imperial) for units like cups and fluid ounces.
Choosing the Right Chart
Pick the chart that matches your inputs, workflow, and reading distance.
Which direction should I use (e.g., mm→in vs in→mm)?
Which direction should I use (e.g., mm→in vs in→mm)?
Use the chart that matches your input unit. If you measure in mm, use mm→in. If your source spec is in inches, use in→mm. If you switch both ways often, keep both charts saved together.
Why do I see multiple charts for similar conversions?
Why do I see multiple charts for similar conversions?
The same conversion can be optimized for different use cases: fractions vs decimals, denser steps for common ranges, or a layout tailored for kitchen vs workshop. Choose the one that matches how you read and where you use it.
I need a chart for my wall (workshop/kitchen). What should I download?
I need a chart for my wall (workshop/kitchen). What should I download?
For a wall chart, prioritize distance readability:
- Pick a range that matches the values you use most often.
- Use larger text and comfortable row height for scanning at a distance.
- Prefer high-contrast templates with clear gridlines.
Downloads & File Formats

The PDF opens but prints blurry — why?
Some preview apps render PDFs at lower resolution. Print using your system PDF viewer, turn off draft mode, and make sure you print at actual size for the crispest output.
Can I keep a copy for offline use?
Can I keep a copy for offline use?
Yes. Save the file to your phone/tablet files app or print a paper copy for kitchens and workshops where you need quick access without a connection.

I see different results compared with another site. Which is correct?
I see different results compared with another site. Which is correct?
Confirm the unit system (US vs Imperial) and rounding rules (decimals/fractions). Different display precision can look like a disagreement even when formulas match.
My printer adds margins and the grid no longer aligns.
My printer adds margins and the grid no longer aligns.
This is usually caused by automatic scaling. Print at 100% and turn off any driver options that resize or add margins. If needed, slightly reduce scale (like 98–99%) but keep it consistent.
Requests & Support
Ask for missing charts, report issues, or request a custom range.
Can I request a specific chart or a custom range?
Can I request a specific chart or a custom range?
Yes. Email your scenario, units, range (e.g., 1–100), and preferred precision (decimals/fractions). That context helps us prioritize and build the right version.
